Club Game of the Week: Jump In, Jump Out

Drew Hill February 3, 2020

Jump In, Jump Out is a hilarious mixer to get club started and a way to change things up! It works with a small or large group. If you have a BIG club, you could ask folks to get in multiple circles.

To play, have kids form a circle, facing the center while holding hands with the people on either side of them. The person leading the game will share that there are four actions/commands in the game: Jump Left, Jump Right, Jump In, and Jump Out.

For the first round, a leader will ask the group to “Say What I say, and Do What I say” The leaders will call a series of ‘Jump’ commands for 20 seconds, and the kids will repeat the command while doing the command.

For the second round, the leader will ask the group to “Say the Opposite of What I say, but Do What I Say.” The leader will continue with the series of jump commands for 20 seconds, with the students saying the opposite of the command while doing the command.

For the third and final round, the leader will ask that the students “Say What I say, but do the Opposite of What I say.” And the leader will continue calling out the series of jump commands for another 20 seconds.

If your club likes a little more competition, those who fail to do the correct command are eliminated, making the circle smaller each time. Last person standing wins!
