Submitting A Guest Post

The Young Life Leader Blog is designed to be a space where leaders from around the globe can share helpful ideas and spiritual encouragement with one another. Before we post anything, we always ask- “Is this equipping or encouraging leaders?”

Maybe you have a creative idea, a new club game, an encouraging story, a lesson you learned, a hot new song, a strike of contact work genius, or anything else you have to offer that could benefit other leaders. If so, we’d love to share it on your behalf.

Here’s What You Get

A chance to share your thoughts with literally tens of thousands of Young Life leaders around the world.

Here’s What We Need

  1. An article emailed to us at YL1941@gmail.com. Please email it in the body of the email, not as an attachment. It just makes it easier for us to copy & paste it into our WordPress site. Aim to make the post between 400-800 words. If you have more to say, we could potentially break it up into a multi-part post.
  2. A brief bio about yourself. 2 sentences describing where you live and your ministry role and anything else interesting about you. It can be something like “Rachel is a California native with a love for the Dodgers, picking flowers, and eating string cheese. After eight years doing social work on L.A.’s Skid Row she moved to San Diego where she now splits her time on Young Life Staff between working in the Global Innovations Department and doing direct ministry with homeless students.
  3. An attached picture of YOU to use for your author profile.
  4. An attached picture that would go with your post. We can include multiple photos with the post, but we need the header pic to be horizontal.

We’d love for the submissions not to require a lot of editing, but we’ll read through it and make any changes necessary before posting it on the blog.

Depending upon the number of submissions, we might not be able to publish every submission. We will email you back and let you know either way. If your submission is not chosen immediately, there is still a chance that it will be used sometime in the future.

We know the life of a Young Life leader is busy, so as you consider making this significant investment of time to help encourage and equip other leaders around the world, we just want to say THANK YOU! This site was created to be a choir of many voices, not just a solo. Thanks for singing along!

Drew Hill, Sam Scott and Alexis Howard
