It’s Social Media Week on The Young Life Leader Blog, now found at www.YoungLifeLeaders.org.
Many of our friends who are on Young Life staff will be in Orlando this week at the Young Life All Staff Conference that is held once every four years. You can keep up with the celebration on Twitter by following @ASC2012 or following the hashtag #YLASC12. Mike “Ash” Ashburn is also blogging the conference at http://ylasc12.blogspot.com/.
During the conference, staff from all over the world get a chance to attend a few different seminars, one of which is on social media. A few folks worked together to create some helpful material for the seminar and I’m excited to share lots of it with you this week on The Young Life Leader Blog.
Dan Johnson, on staff with YL in Quad-cities, Iowa, has recently started a new website, YLDigital.com as a resource for YL leaders. Dan put together the best “social media ministry strategy” that I’ve read to date and is going to be sharing it on YLDigital.com this week. Check it out his first post on social media here.
I’m still learning a ton about social networks and tried to put together a few thoughts on my own social media journey as a Young Life leader over the past few years since the facebook explosion…and now twitter. I’ll be posting those thoughts on the blog throughout the week. I hope they’re helpful to you and I’d love for you to share any pointers you’ve learned in the comments below.
Let’s be praying for our staff friends in Florida, that it indeed may be a celebration…one that pleases the Lord and encourages weary souls.
