A guest post from Kristalyn Simler.
A few years ago my husband and I ventured to Costa Rica with International Young Life because God had laid it on our hearts to serve there, through a way that we knew could only be God. We led Young Life at an International School. The classes were taught in English, but the hallways were full of Spanish. The place was filled with kids who wanted to know more about this “Hay-seuss” (Jesus). It was a tough yet awesome time filled with soccer and the Holy Spirit.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to do ministry south of the border or across the pond? Ever thought of leading Young Life in a thriving world center or a third world country? Are you praying about what you want to do when you grow up or what you want to do next…
Young Life is all over the world, including U.S. military installations, international schools and ministry with nationals. If God is calling you, there are opportunities to lead YL just about anywhere. Every international opportunity is unique and there is no way that one little blog can do it justice – but I encourage you to stop for a moment and pray – is God leading you to a new continent, country or cuisine?
If you’re seriously considering the call to serve Christ and kids overseas, we would love to meet you! Please join us at our next International Information Weekend (a required step in the deployment process). Nevertheless, if you are exactly where God wants you right now – would you please join us in prayer for these places: Singapore, Scotland, Tanzania, Peru, France, Moscow, London, Munich, Madrid and Lisbon.< This linkwill provide you with information about the next International Information weekend Feb. 24th-26th at Sharptop Cove.
We are looking for Young Life leaders for the whole world – if you are interested in a specific country, please contact kneely@sc.younglife.org
